Featuring a constant fast f/2.8 maximum aperture across the entire 70-200mm focal range, this iconic optic incorporates Nikon's Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization system, Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for quiet autofocus, and Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements to minimize chromatic aberrations. Equipped with M/A and M focus mode switching, a focus limiter control, distance scale window, and a metal Nikon F bayonet mount. Complete with front and rear lens caps.

Condition

Overall Condition: Very Good / User Grade

Cosmetically in well-used, honest condition with noticeable surface wear, paint rubs, and finish loss along the outer metal barrel, collar section, and switches. Rubber zoom and focus grip rings are intact and turn smoothly. Optics are clear with clean glass free from fungus or deep scratches; minor internal dust specks are present as typical for a telephoto zoom. Fully tested and functional: autofocus operates smoothly via SWM, Vibration Reduction (VR) engages properly, zoom mechanism moves freely through the full 70-200mm range, and diaphragm blades actuate crisply.

Included

Nikon AF-S VR-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED Zoom Lens

Nikon Front Pinch Lens Cap

Nikon Rear Lens Mount Cap

Key Features

Constant f/2.8 fast maximum aperture ideal for low-light sports, portraits, and wildlife

Nikon Vibration Reduction (VR) technology for handheld stability at slow shutter speeds

Silent Wave Motor (SWM) delivering fast, silent, and accurate autofocus tracking

Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements reducing optical distortion and color fringing

Internal focusing (IF) and internal zoom design maintaining fixed lens dimensions

Focus limiter switch (FULL / ∞–2.5m) to accelerate autofocus acquisition speeds

Rugged metal Nikon F-mount construction compatible with FX, DX, and mirrorless Z cameras via FTZ

Collector's Notes

The original VR Generation I 70-200mm f/2.8G ED Nikkor remains an absolute workhorse legend in photojournalism and sports photography history.
