Our Story

ColinsCameras

ColinsCameras is a family business built on trust and genuine passion. It is run with the help of my wife, Andrea, and our daughter, Melissa, who assists with fulfilling orders.

Our Story

My journey with ColinsCameras began organically; we've always enjoyed exploring auctions, which led to accumulating many fascinating items—so much so that we had a dedicated 'museum room'! To manage our collection, we started selling on eBay, and this eventually blossomed into the business you see today. In 2026 I am transitioning to fully dedicate myself to this venture after over 30 years of experience as a Solutions Architect, applying a meticulous approach to problem-solving in large corporate digital environments. This new chapter allows us to prioritize our family and my focus on cameras and photography, especially given my wife's health condition. I invite you to follow my travel blog (once active), where I'll share photography and my family's adventures.

Passions and Family

Our true passions lie in travel, wildlife, architecture, and landscapes, genres that beautifully complement our family travels and will be a core focus of the upcoming blog. Andrea spent years as a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) with the police, a role that honed her photography skills and developed into a lifelong hobby. Health conditions necessitated her leaving the police, leading to a respected career as a university research admissions administrator until her ill health retirement in October 2025. Andrea and I met when she saw and liked one of my photographs. As our relationship blossomed, we spent many years going out and photographing many different subjects together, often competing over who could take the best photographs. Andrea's health conditions present a continual struggle; a heart problem impacts breathing and strenuous activity, and a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2019 brings ongoing battles with physical limitations and neurological issues. This makes continuing our travels and passions particularly difficult.
