Description

The Nikon F4 is a landmark professional 35mm SLR film camera, introduced in 1988 as the successor to the legendary Nikon F3. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, it was the first Nikon F-series to feature autofocus, matrix metering, and a built-in motor drive — setting the stage for modern SLR design.

Built like a tank with a copper-aluminium alloy chassis, the F4 offers TTL phase-detection autofocus, multi-mode exposure control (program, shutter priority, aperture priority, manual), and compatibility with virtually all Nikon F-mount lenses from 1959 onward. Its hybrid control layout blends classic dials with electronic displays, making it a favourite among professionals and serious enthusiasts.
