Overview

A Tamron SP 2X Teleconverter in native Minolta MD mount. This is the dedicated MD‑fit version, not the Adaptall‑2 type, and is designed to be used directly with Minolta MD/MC lenses and Minolta manual‑focus 35mm SLR bodies.

The SP series represents Tamron’s higher‑grade optical line, offering solid mechanical construction and dependable performance for film shooters and collectors.

This example is in Very Good condition, fully tested, and ready for use.

Key Features

  • 2× magnification for extended telephoto reach
  • Native Minolta MD mount (not Adaptall)
  • Compatible with Minolta MD and MC lenses
  • Solid metal construction with precise mechanical tolerances
  • Maintains aperture coupling for correct metering on Minolta bodies
  • Compact and lightweight addition to any MD kit

Condition

Very Good Condition

  • Light cosmetic wear consistent with normal use

  • Fully tested on an MD body and functioning correctly

Compatibility

Fully compatible with:

  • Minolta MD/MC 35mm SLR cameras (X‑300, X‑500, X‑700, XD‑7, XE‑1, etc.)
  • Minolta MD/MC lenses from 28mm to 300mm+

Note: As with all 2× converters, expect a two‑stop light loss and some reduction in contrast depending on the lens used.

Included

  • Tamron SP 2X Teleconverter – Minolta MD Mount
  • Front and rear caps

Collector Notes

The native‑mount Tamron SP converters are less common than the Adaptall‑2 versions and are valued by Minolta collectors for their direct compatibility and solid optical performance. They remain a practical and affordable way to explore longer focal lengths on classic Minolta film bodies.
