Description
The KMZ Zorki-5 is a Soviet 35mm rangefinder camera produced from 1958 to 1959 by Krasnogorsky Mekhanichesky Zavod (KMZ). It features a Leica-inspired design, M39 screw mount, and a combined viewfinder/rangefinder window with dioptre adjustment. This example is paired with a FED 52mm f/2.8 lens—a less common Soviet optic offering a slightly longer focal length and distinctive rendering. The Zorki-5 was unified with the Zenit-3 SLR, sharing many mechanical components and offering a streamlined shooting experience.

Collector’s Notes
The Zorki-5 is one of the shortest-lived Zorki models, with a production run of just over 230,000 units. It features a film advance lever and wider rangefinder base than earlier models, improving usability and focus accuracy. The FED 52mm f/2.8 lens is an uncommon pairing, offering a unique look and slightly tighter framing than standard 50mm lenses. Ideal for collectors seeking rare Soviet combinations or photographers exploring vintage rangefinder shooting.
