Leica III screw-mount 35mm rangefinder camera, serial number 278149, manufactured in 1938 by Leitz Wetzlar, Germany. A classic Barnack design featuring separate viewfinder and rangefinder windows, slow-speed dial, and full mechanical shutter control. This model represents the final evolution before the IIIa, offering shutter speeds from 1s to 1/500s and compatibility with Leica M39 lenses. A true collector’s piece from the golden age of precision German engineering.
Condition
Good vintage condition. Shutter fires accurately across all speeds. Rangefinder patch is bright and aligned. Viewfinder clean with minor dust. Chrome finish shows light wear consistent with age. Bits of Leatherette missing. Missing film reel.
