The Leica M8 (Model 10 701) is the historic first digital rangefinder camera body in the legendary Leica M series, introduced in 2006. Engineered around a 10.3-megapixel APS-H format CCD sensor developed by Kodak, it delivers the iconic high-contrast, film-like optical rendering and rendering fidelity cherished by M-system purists. Accepts virtually all Leica M-mount lenses produced since 1954, featuring automatic 6-bit optical lens code detection. Housed in a solid brass and magnesium alloy body chassis with a black chrome finish. Features an exceptionally bright 0.68x optical rangefinder with auto-indexing framelines, an electronically controlled metal focal-plane shutter capable of speeds up to 1/8000 s, top LCD status counter, 2.5-inch rear LCD monitor, and removable brass baseplate. Extremely rare collector-grade example with a verified lifetime shutter count of only 98 actuations as recorded in the internal debug data. Complete with original inner presentation box, outer packaging, documentation, cables, battery charger, original Leica battery, and additional replacement battery.
