Description

The Minolta Auto 280PX is a compact, dedicated TTL shoe-mount electronic flash unit introduced in 1981 alongside the flaghip Minolta X-700 35mm SLR camera. Engineered for seamless integration with Minolta's Program System, it provides direct Off-The-Film (OTF) flash metering and full Programmed Autoflash operation when paired with the X-700, X-500, or X-300 bodies. Features a guide number of 28 (meters at ISO 100), ASA film speed selection window, high/low winder sync power toggle, test/ready monitor button, and a multi-pin dedicated hot shoe connection. Powered by four standard AA batteries. Serial number A164417. Complete with original Minolta black leatherette snap-closure protective pouch.

Overall Condition: Excellent

The black plastic casing is in exceptionally clean cosmetic condition with minimal handling marks. The fresnel flash tube window is clear and free of cracks or discoloration. The hot shoe mount plate and dedicated electronic contacts are clean and unblemished. Battery compartment terminal contacts are completely free of oxidation or corrosion. Mechanically and electronically fully tested: charges rapidly, fires reliably via test button and camera shoe trigger, and ready light indicator functions properly. Serial number A164417.
