Description

The Minolta XD (known as the XD-11 in North America and XD-7 in Europe) is a milestone 35mm manual-focus SLR camera body introduced by Minolta in 1977. Developed in collaboration with Leica, it holds the distinction of being the world's first SLR camera to feature dual multi-mode automatic exposure, offering both Aperture-Priority (A) and Shutter-Priority (S) modes along with full Manual (M) control. Engineered with a native Minolta MD bayonet mount, it features a Seiko metal vertical focal-plane shutter operating electronically from 1 s to 1/1000 s plus Bulb and mechanical X-sync at 1/100 s. Boasting an exceptionally bright, clear optical viewfinder with exposure metering indicators, depth-of-field preview lever, self-timer, and exposure compensation control. Powered by two standard LR44 / SR44 button cell batteries. Serial number 1028541.

Overall Condition: Excellent

The chrome satin finish is in exceptionally clean condition with light cosmetic signs of handling wear. The black leatherette body covering is complete, tight, and fully intact. Viewfinder and reflex mirror chamber are bright and clear. Battery compartment, film chamber, and metal shutter blades are clean and unblemished. Mechanically and electronically fully working: shutter fires accurately across all speeds, exposure meter responds to light changes, film advance lever winds smoothly, and self-timer functions properly. Serial number 1028541. Fully tested and working.
