The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/4 D ED II is a professional-grade, second-generation ultra-telephoto prime lens engineered for demanding wildlife, sports, and press photographers shooting Nikon F-mount FX and DX digital SLRs. Finished in Nikon's rare factory light grey (light gray) cosmetics, the Type II version features a redesigned magnesium-alloy barrel construction that significantly reduces total weight compared to the original version while enhancing handling balance. Built with Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements and Internal Focusing (IF), it delivers exceptional optical sharpness, contrast, and rapid focus performance across the frame. Driven by a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for fast, near-silent autofocus, it features full-time manual focus override, an updated close-focus distance, drop-in 52mm filter holder, heavy-duty tripod collar foot, and custom hard flight case.

Overall Condition: Good

Optics are fungus and haze free with possible minor dust. The light grey lens barrel shows clear cosmetic signs of professional use, including paint finish rub wear, superficial scuffs, and minor touch-ups around the metal barrel and tripod foot. Focus and control rings rotate smoothly throughout their travel. Electronic contacts and bayonet mount are clean, drop-in filter drawer latches properly, and autofocus operates with a little noise. Fully tested and working.
