Description:

Rare Photina Reflex TLR Camera, manufactured by Photavit-Werk in Nürnberg, West Germany, circa 1950s. This twin-lens reflex uses 120 roll film and features a Westar 75mm f/3.5 viewing and taking lens pair in a leaf shutter. The shutter fires and appears functional, but the focus screen is broken and will require replacement—ideal for restoration or display.

The Photina Reflex is a lesser-known but beautifully styled TLR, often compared to entry-level Rolleicords. It offers a simplified shooting experience with manual controls, waist-level finder, and classic German optics. Its rarity and distinctive design make it a compelling piece for collectors.

Key Features:

  • Format: 120 roll film (6×6 cm)
  • Lens: Westar 75mm f/3.5 (viewing and taking lens)
  • Shutter: Leaf shutter (B, 1/25–1/200s approx.)
  • Viewfinder: Waist-level finder with broken focus screen
  • Focus: Manual front-cell focusing
  • Film Advance: Manual wind with red window frame counter

  • Origin: Photavit-Werk, Nürnberg, West Germany

Condition Notes:

  • Shutter: Fires across all speeds; not tested for accuracy
  • Focus Screen: Broken and non-functional—needs replacement
  • Lens: Clean optics, no haze or fungus
  • Cosmetics: Good overall; signs of age consistent with use
  • Accessories: Camera only (no case or caps)

Collector Notes:
