Description
This is an early Soviet Zenit 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) camera featuring the M39 screw mount, produced by KMZ (Krasnogorsky Mekhanichesky Zavod) in the 1950s. Based on the Zorki rangefinder body, the Zenit was adapted into an SLR by adding a mirror box and pentaprism, making it one of the earliest Soviet reflex cameras. While it shares the 39mm thread mount with Leica rangefinders, the flange distance is different, meaning Zenit M39 lenses are not compatible with rangefinder bodies and vice versa.
