Description:

Tamron Adaptall-2 28mm f/2.5 BBAR-coated wide-angle lens, Model 02B. A compact, lightweight manual focus prime with excellent build quality and versatile mounting via the Adaptall-2 system. Optics are clean, focus is smooth, and aperture blades are snappy. BBAR multi-coating reduces flare and ghosting, delivering rich color and contrast. Overall condition is good, with chipping the edges showing it is used.

This lens is ideal for street, landscape, and travel photography, offering a slightly faster aperture than typical f/2.8 lenses. It’s compatible with a wide range of film and digital bodies using the appropriate Adaptall-2 mount (not included unless specified).

Collector Notes:

Produced from 1979 to 1992, the 02B is part of Tamron’s legendary Adaptall-2 system, allowing photographers to swap mounts across brands. The f/2.5 aperture offers a slight edge in brightness over standard f/2.8 lenses, and the BBAR coating adds character with subtle flare and starbursts when stopped down. It’s a favorite among vintage lens enthusiasts for its portability, build quality, and close-focus capability.
