Description

The Vivitar 28-50mm f/3.5-4.5 MC Zoom is a versatile vintage manual focus zoom lens featuring a native Minolta SR / MC / MD bayonet mount. Manufactured by Komine as indicated by serial number prefix "28", it combines a useful focal range spanning wide-angle (28mm) to standard focal lengths (50mm), making it a convenient walkaround choice for street, landscape, and everyday photography. Multi-coated (MC) elements help minimize internal reflections and enhance image contrast. Native to all Minolta manual focus 35mm film SLRs (such as the X-700, XD, X-300, and SRT series) and easily adapted to modern mirrorless digital camera bodies (Sony E, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, Canon RF) via standard MD adapters. Constructed with a compact all-metal barrel, diamond-pattern rubber grip, distance scale markings, and a 58mm front filter thread. Serial number 28102084. Complete with front clip-on lens cap and rear Minolta MD mount cap.

Condition

Overall Condition: Very Good

Optics are clear, fungus-free, and haze-free with light internal dust typical for a vintage zoom lens. The black anodized metal lens barrel shows minor cosmetic paint wear along the rear mount edge, with clean white and green distance markings and intact rubber grip texturing. Metal Minolta MD bayonet mount flange and stop-down linkage operate properly. Manual focus and zoom rings turn smoothly and evenly across their ranges, aperture ring clicks sharply at all stops, and aperture blades are oil-free and snappy. Serial number 28102084. Fully tested and working.
