Description
The Voigtländer Vito III is a rare and beautifully engineered 35mm folding rangefinder camera, produced in Braunschweig, West Germany starting in 1950. It was the final and most advanced model in the Vito folding series, featuring a coupled rangefinder, top-plate focus control, and the exceptional Ultron 50mm f/2 lens — a 6-element design known for its sharpness and creamy rendering.
Built on a similar chassis to the Voigtländer Prominent, the Vito III shares many premium features, including a Synchro-Compur shutter with speeds from 1s to 1/500s + B, and a rigid lens bed that folds neatly into the body. Its compact form and elegant design make it a standout among German rangefinders of the era.
Condition
Good vintage condition. Ultron lens optics clean — no haze, fungus, or scratches. Shutter fires across all speeds. Rangefinder patch bright and aligned. Bellows light-tight. Focus knob smooth. Body shows heavy wear/minor damage to top.
